When “Newsweek Polska” weekly appeared on our market, Poland was not a member of the European Union yet, TVN24 news channel was being launched in Warsaw at Wiertnicza Street, and in politics a change of power was in the air. Many crises, tragedies and moments of joy happened during these 20 years. “Newsweek” journalists have always tried to see people in them: victims, perpetrators, heroes: the extraordinary and ordinary ones. “Newsweek” is a leading Polish opinion-forming weekly, which addresses social and political issues, among other things. For many years, we have been one of the leading weeklies on the Polish publishing market in terms of readership.
It’s worth adding that it is not the only distinction awarded to Prof. Henryk Skarżyński by readers, Internet users or editorial staff of the media from every political camp. Prof. H. Skarżyński received, among other things, the “Visionaries of the 21st century” award for his vision, passion and success from “Wprost” weekly, a commemorative diploma with the words of thanks for every day work for the sick, following impeccable principles, commitment and sensitivity, patiently educating and raising public awareness, as well as inspiring the passion of helping others awarded by the medical portal Medexpress.pl, the title “Leader of the Year 2020 in Health Care – innovative hospital” in the contest “Success of the Year in Health Care – Leaders of Medicine” held by the medical publishing house Termedia and editorial staff of “Manager of Health” and “Medical Courier” as well as an award in the philanthropist category awarded by the Jury of the contest “Polish Enprepreneur of the Year 2017” held by the editorial staff of “Gazeta Polska Codziennie”. Moreover, this year – for the third time in a raw – the professor won the second place in the “medicine” category in the public voting “List of 100” held by “Pulse of Medicine”. He made it to the Top 10 twelve times, and was twice (in 2013 and 2016) at the top of the List.
