Modern medical technologies on the Congress of Innovative Economy

On 8 and 9 June 2016, in the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw took place the Congress of Innovative Economy, organized for the 7th time by the National Chamber of Commerce. One of the topics of the Congress were new medical technologies; one of the panel speakers was Prof. Henryk Skarżyński, MD, PhD, dr. h.c.(mult).

During the panel on modern medical technologies, Prof. Henryk Skarżyński referring to 25th anniversary of the Polish Program of Treatment of Deafness and 20th anniversary of the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing, had spoken about the newest achievements of Polish otorhinolaryngology, with special emphasis placed on the telemedical services.

In this 7th Congress of Innovative Economy took part about 700 guests. Among the participants there were also such eminent persons as: Jarosław Gowin – deputy prime minister and minister of science and higher education, Jerzy Kwieciński – state secretary in the ministry of development, Patrycja Klarecka – president of the  Polish Agency for Enterprise Development PARP, Michał Olszewski – vice-president of Warsaw, Maciej Witucki – chairman of the Supervisory Board of Orange Polska, Kamil Wyszkowski – general director, UN Secretary General Initiative, Global Compact Poland. In discussions participated also representatives of Polish and foreign business, administration and medias.

The Congress of Innovative Economy is organized cyclically since 2010, by the National Chamber of Commerce. Its aim is to create an open forum for exchange of opinions between all participants – beneficiaries of actions promoting innovativeness in Poland. It facilitates developing real solutions advancing the process of transformation of Polish economy towards an innovative model. Among special guests of previous Congresses of Innovative Economy there were such personages as Francis Fukuyama, Joseph E. Stiglitz or Charles Landry.
