While thanking for the acknowledgment, Prof. Piotr H. Skarżyński spoke about the world-class level of Polish otolaryngology, which has been recording numerous successes for many years and is also gaining attention abroad. It has gained a reputation as a highly specialized field of medicine as well.
As for the most influential person in Polish medicine, the jury chose Prof. Maciej Banach, whereas the title of the person with the most positive effect on the healthcare system went for the third time to the Deputy Minister of Health, Maciej Miłkowski.
For the last 21 years, “Lista Stu” has been undoubtedly the most prestigious contest in the field of Polish medicine and healthcare. It is constantly improving and meeting the changing reality to further mobilize activity and multiply the achievements of candidates in the next generation of medics. That is why the organizers invited the unquestionable leader of the ranking, Prof. Henryk Skarżyński (until last year, his name was present on the List of 100 in all editions, he was ranked among the best ten people fourteen times, and he was ranked as first three times – in 2015, 2016 and 2022) to take the chairmanship of the Council of Honorary Chapter of the Competition, which will support the editors in their work on the poll.
– After the last nomination I asked not to be included on the list of candidates for this award. This does not mean that I do not care about the competition. I care, maybe even more than before. I would like to help the editorial of “Puls Medycyny” journal to find young, talented, and worth noticing representatives of the medical field” – said Prof. Henryk Skarżyński.
The ranking “Lista Stu” is created in cooperation with jurors invited by the “Puls Medycyny” journal. Every year, the composition of the chapter changes. During the current plebiscite, 45 experts evaluated the candidates in both categories.
It is worth mentioning that the list “Lista Stu 2023” of most influential people in Polish medicine included 19 new names, an increase was noted in 41 places, and 39 people were ranked lower than in last year’s ranking.
