Prof. Henryk Skarżyński has supported the Warsaw University of Technology activities with his organizational and teaching experience for a dozen or so years. The Institute of Physiology and Pathology of Hearing, led by the Professor, started cooperation with the Warsaw University of Technology in 1996. In 2009, the next cooperation agreement was signed concerning implementing technological solutions in otolaryngology, audiology, and phoniatrics. Currently, the Institute is cooperating with three faculties of the University, which gives a perfect picture of the broad range of their joint activities.
The Centre for Advanced Studies is an extra-faculty unit of the Warsaw University of Technology. The idea of establishing the Centre was conceived in 2000, together with the first offer of advanced lectures addressed to PhD students. In 2016 the Council of the Centre for Advanced Studies awarded its highest distinction, “Laus tibi, non tuleris qui vincula mente animoque” to Prof. Henryk Skarżyński. Its symbol is a Crystal Dodecahedron called Pythagorean Universe, awarded for accomplishments in building effective research space and breaking the boundaries of cognition.
