On June 21, 2024, the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs “Przedsiębiorcy.pl” organized the Grand Gala “Personalities of Freedom of the Republic of Poland”. The event took place in the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel & Conference Centre in Warsaw. During the Gala, the Federation honored the people who impacted the transformation era most. Prof. Henryk Skarżyński was named the Personality of the 35th Anniversary of Freedom of the Republic of Poland in the category ‘science’. The award recognized the extraordinary skills, knowledge, work, and effort he put into developing Polish otolaryngology.

As we can read in the laudation: “The award was given for your lifetime achievement as an outstanding otorhinolaryngologist. Your involvement, passion, and relentless pursuit of excellence have brought countless benefits to patients and the medical community. Thanks to your extraordinary skills, knowledge, and experience, many patients received a chance to recover health and return to normal life. Your innovative approach to treatment and constant care for the patients’ welfare made you an authority in the field of otorhinolaryngology not only in Warsaw but also in the national and international arena.”

The Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs “Przedsiębiorcy.pl” is an organization representing the interest of employers, established to build a positive image of entrepreneurs in Poland, protect their rights and represent the interests of affiliated members, or actively promote Polish brands, among other things. Its chief aim is to ensure the best development conditions for Polish entrepreneurs. One of the Federation’s regular initiatives, the Grand Gala “Personalities of Freedom of the Republic of Poland”, is a unique opportunity to celebrate the successes of Polish companies and individuals who have undoubtedly contributed to building a better tomorrow for Poland.

This year, the “Przedsiębiorcy.pl” Federation distinguished:

• in the free media category: the Rzeczpospolita newspaper
• in the Personalities of Freedom category: Bronisław Komorowski, President of the Republic of Poland; Leszek Miller, Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland; Adam Struzik, Marshal of the Mazovian Voivodeship; Olgierd Geblewicz, Marshal of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship; Prof. Ewa Łętowska; Prof. Mirosław Ząbek; Jerzy Starak; Sobiesław Zasada; Andrzej Malinowski; and Michał Żebrowski.

The awards were presented by Robert Składowski, President of the Federation Przedsiebiorcy.pl, and Piotr Podgórski, a member of the Federation’s board of directors. The Gala paid tribute to the events that took place on June 4, 1989, which greatly impacted the development of Polish entrepreneurship.
